The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, heads of Turkmenistan’s diplomatic missions at the United Nations and the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, Jacinta Barrins, discussed the status and prospects of further development of the strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations. The meeting took place at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

According to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the sides stressed the need to consolidate efforts for the more effective implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Development Programme, signed on March 2 this year.

The sides also discussed the progress in achieving the Millennium Development Goals as well as prospects of holding national consultations to identify proposals for development of the post 2015 Sustainable Development Goals. The sides exchanged views on other priority issues of bilateral cooperation, the Foreign Ministry said.
